ORGANIZATION: The Animal Pad

TAP Logo

The Animal Pad is searching for a couple of dedicated Donations Gurus! We’re looking for motivated and self-driven individuals to assist us in obtaining donations of our most used and most needed supplies! Essentially volunteers who will focus on scouting item donations, and handle all of the leg work on OfferUp, Nextdoor, FB Marketplace, Craigslist, etc. in regards to both finding supplies as well as posting our needs.
It can sometimes be a time consuming task, and we need volunteers who can research items that we are in need of and negotiate for free or low pricing. In addition to all of the usual stuff, we’d love someone who could help with obtaining more obscure but also very helpful items/services, such as outdoor storage sheds, and services like junk pick-up at HQ in La Mesa. This volunteer role would include:

  • Scouring sites (such as Nextdoor, OfferUp, FB Marketplace, Craigslist, etc.) for rescue related supplies in at least *LIKE NEW* condition - ex. crates (of any/all sizes), and all of the "normal" rescue stuff, ie. blankets, towels, pee pads, unopened food/treats, slip leads, leashes/collars/harnesses, etc.
  • Communicating and coordinating with sellers, as well as offering a receipt of donation and pick-up option for a seamless transaction
  • Picking up items and transporting to appropriate TAP storage site (will likely always be HQ/care facility), or delegating to volunteers in the TAP Volunteer Facebook group or via Slack
If you are organized, a real self-starter, and think this role would be perfect for you, then please fill out a Volunteer Application on our website: https://theanimalpad.org/volunteer/volunteer-application/

About The Animal Pad

Location:

4620 Avocado Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91941, US

Mission Statement

The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue based in San Diego, CA that focuses on saving dogs from the streets of Mexico and high kill shelters. We get them the vet care they need, place them in foster homes and then find them loving forever families. Our mission is to form a safe space for dogs experiencing crisis and neglect, and to build a community of compassion through education, rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Our community of volunteers and fosters strives to ensure that all dogs get a fighting chance, and believes that no case is too extreme to be helped - meaning our rescue is full of perfectly imperfect dogs who can’t wait to meet you! Being operated solely by volunteers and funded entirely by donations, none of what we do could be possible without our dedicated team!

Description

Here at TAP, we give voice to the voiceless and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find them the best homes possible. Founded in 2010, The Animal Pad is volunteer run and funded entirely by donations. We rescue dogs primarily off the streets of Mexico, and provide them full medical care and a loving foster home to heal in before they head to their adoptive home.

If you're interested in any of our volunteer opportunities and getting involved in a cause bigger than any of us, please head over to our website and fill out a volunteer application online: https://theanimalpad.org/volunteer/
