Join the Vaccinate The States web banking efforts to help verify vaccine availability and type at locations across the US, and our outreach efforts to connect vulnerable communities to that information .
Currently, around 2 million Covid-19 vaccination shots are given in the US each day. Even though the vaccine is readily available, there are still many, many people who do not have easy access to a vaccination site or may have other barriers preventing them from getting vaccinated. Our volunteers are working to uncover hard to find info about off-the-map locations. We need your help to expand the research teams.
Our volunteer opportunities offer a flexible schedule based on what works for you. We use a Discord workspace to communicate and keep on top of the latest developments.

Mission Statement
VaccinateCA began humbly, with a tweet. A group of like-minded people connected via social media after seeing loved ones spend hours on the phone, trying to find vaccine appointments---a frustrating process that strained the healthcare system at a critical time. By publishing what they learned as they called pharmacies and hospitals, they could help others find vaccination appointments, and save medical professionals time to focus on their lifesaving work. A handful of callers and a spreadsheet has grown to a nonprofit with over 750 volunteers working on a national scale. Every day, data is recorded on thousands of locations - from vaccine availability to how to make an appointment - and then published at https://vaccinatethestates.org/. Recently, the focus has shifted to supporting communities where barriers to vaccination are high and vaccine uptake is low. There have been many successes, but millions of shots in arms are still needed for America to move towards herd immunity.
Description
Since January of 2021, more than a million people have visited their website. Today, the data they gather helps to power Google's vaccine clinic listings for California and beyond, too. Vaccinate the States also finds and shares the most up-to-date data set on mobile clinics and pop-ups. This is the information that is critical to vulnerable populations right now.

- To get started, you'll attend a 15 minute orientation zoom. Most volunteers help at least a few hours a week, but you can decide what works best for you and don't have to commit to shifts in advance.
- You'll need access to a computer and some computer skills. We use Discord to communicate and manage volunteer assignments.
