Join the VaccinateCA phone banking effort to help verify vaccine availability and eligibility information at locations across California.

We'll train you, give you a script to follow, and welcome you with a supportive community of fellow phone bankers. All you need is a phone, a computer, and a desire to help out!

Our volunteers call pharmacies and clinics to ask if they have the vaccine, who is eligible, and how to make an appointment. We record what they tell us, and publish it to the website.

Californians looking to book a vaccination appointment can visit https://vaccinateca.com to find nearby vaccination clinics.

As the vaccine rollout continues to accelerate, we need volunteers more than ever. Most of our phone banking is between 8am and 7pm PT, since that's when most vaccination clinics are open. Just a few hours of your time once or twice a week would be a huge help to us. Every call you can make helps save lives.

If you need a letter to verify your volunteering hours, we're happy to provide one!

About VaccinateCA

Location:

548 Market St, Suite 95114, San Francisco, CA 94104, US

Mission Statement

VaccinateCA began humbly, with a Tweet. This January, a group of likeminded people connected via social media after seeing loved ones spend hours on the phone, trying to find vaccine appointments---a frustrating process that strained the healthcare system at a critical time. They realized that by publishing what they learned as they called pharmacies and hospitals, they could help other Californians find vaccination appointments, and save medical professionals time to focus on their lifesaving work. What started out as a handful of callers and a spreadsheet has grown to a nonprofit with over 500 volunteers. Every day, they call clinics across the state to ask if they have the vaccine, who can get a shot, and how to make an appointment. They publish everything for free on https://vaccinateca.com/.

Description

In the last two months, nearly a million people have visited their website. Today, the data they gather helps to power Google's vaccine clinic listings for California, too. VaccinateCA also finds and shares California's most up-to-date list of county vaccination policies, and as eligibility criteria have become more complex, they've launched a simple checklist to help people figure out if they might be eligible.
