SONC Logo

Special Olympics North Carolina is looking for virtual volunteers to join the Partner Up Power Up Program as American Sign Language Volunteers. This program is a virtual training and fitness challenge that can be completed from home bringing together individuals with and without intellectual disabilities. As a replacement for a traditional, in-person training session, this program provides an opportunity for the public to support Special Olympic athletes as volunteer training partners or sponsors.

We need volunteers to make this program a success! We are looking for sign language interpreters to translate the emcees' and fitness trainers' directions.

  • Our priority school class is held via Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:15 to 11:00 am.
  • Our community class is held via Zoom on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:45 to 7:00 pm.
We are looking for volunteers who would be available for 2 hours or more per week through May 14. Our staff will work with you to ensure best practices are followed.

Please list your contact details so we can share more information with you regarding this fun and exciting opportunity. Thank you for your interest in helping Special Olympic athletes.
