Volunteer Schedule:
8:30AM - 8:45AM Volunteer Check-In
8:45AM - 9:15AM Site Orientation, Safety Overview, & Work Assignment **Arrivals after 9AM will be turned away for safety purposes
9:15AM - 12:00PM CONSTRUCTION!
12:00PM - 12:45PM Lunch (please remember to bring your own bagged lunch)
12:45PM - 3:30PM MORE CONSTRUCTION!
3:30PM - 4:00PM Clean Up
Transportation: During this time, please do not carpool with people outside your bubble. Street parking can be challenging so please give yourself time to find it before you arrive for your shift. The SF Muni 9R bus goes by our site if you need to take public transportation.
Prepare: To be ready for strenuous physical labor, please get a good night’s sleep and full breakfast before your build day. Please review the Covid-19 precautions and Top 10 Safety Tips before coming to site. Remember to wear your mask, sturdy, closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty/ruined as well as your own gloves and eye protection. Limited supplies of gloves and eye protection will be available. Prepare to be outside in any weather with layers and sun protection. In the event of bad weather, call our Construction Status Phone Line at (415) 919-4069 after 7:00 am on your build day for an update. Leave valuables at home.
Covid Screening Questions: Please be aware that upon entering the site, you will be asked questions to screen for risk of exposure. Note that if in the last 14 days, you have tested positive, are awaiting results, experiencing or exposed to symptoms, exposed to someone with Covid or gathered indoors without masks with people outside of your household, you will be declined entry to the site.
CONTACT TRACING: Attendance is recorded strictly at the site to help facilitate contact tracing. Volunteers must report to Habitat staff if they experience Covid-19 symptoms or receive a positive diagnosis within 2 weeks of their volunteer day. Reports will be shared with others who worked on that day but sources will remain anonymous.
Age Requirement: All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Minors must have their waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
