We do this by producing and presenting exceptional productions, developing a superior educational program and collaborating with the community of Arlington Heights.

In accordance with our mission, PAM’s organizational goals include: 1) providing an artistic and collaborative home for presenting companies, artistic associates and the community; 2) investing in high quality productions and education programs to generate income to support and broaden existing programs; 3) partnering with area nonprofit organizations, schools, libraries and park districts to provide our community with the best performing arts experiences possible.

Description

Metropolis Performing Arts Centre is a $22 million live entertainment and arts education facility with an annual budget of over $2.5 million, located in downtown Arlington Heights, Ill. and has quickly become one of Chicagoland’s leading venues for quality programming. The complex is home to a 350 seat theater, four classrooms and thirteen music studios. Metropolis offers a diverse array of Chicago’s most talented performers and performance troupes, as well as national acts spanning virtually all performance genres - all under one roof.

Currently in our 2010/11 10th Anniversary Season, we have over 400 performances of more than 50 different productions on our schedule, our School of the Performing Arts serves over 2,500 students, our Stories in Action! Series for kids has given more than 20,000 students an exciting theatre-going experience, and our Outreach programs have reached over 9,000 individuals ranging from students to individuals with special needs to seniors to hospice patients. Last season, we saw over 78,000 patrons come through our doors, who, in turn, spent an additional $1.6 million in the downtown Arlington Heights area. Metropolis continues to foster partnerships with a variety of businesses, schools and organizations, contributing to Arlington Heights and striving to grow as a community organization.
