About: I'RAISE is a small BIPOC led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in NYC. We provide 100% free educational resources, programs, and services to vulnerable families and children in under-resourced and under-served communities in NYC since 2013 and virtually since 2022. We provide free programs such as tutoring, mentoring, coaching, college and career preparation, parent support, virtual performing arts classes, and much more.

Description of Role: We are looking for a college students interested in being a Graphic Designer intern and help our organization with creating thoughtful marketing initiatives to promote our growing non-profit organization, I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation.

The Graphic Designing intern will put together robust marketing designs to reveal the organization’s impact in the community we serve through the services we have been providing since 2012; free tutoring, mentoring, coaching, college preparation, parent education workshops, nutrition workshops, mental health programs, etc.

The Graphic Designing intern will help establish I’RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation as a major non-profit organization within New York City and virtually in multiple states. This project is important because it will enable I'RAISE to amplify its message to stakeholders and communicate our impact.

Daily life of a Graphic Designing Intern:

• Create content for our social media, website, and newsletters (memes, posts, logos, campaigns/promotions)
• Create flyers for agency meetings and events
• Design new brochures and presentation slides to promote new and existing programs
• Update existing forms and/or design new forms for internal agency use
• Draft branding guidelines to encourage consistent usage of the I’RAISE logo and word mark across the agency
• Become familiar with design software such as Canva
• Become familiar with Photoshopping
• Become familiar with social media platforms

Skills / Qualifications:

• Current grad or undergrad student interested in gaining Graphic Designing experience or strengthening graphic designing skillsets
• Strong graphic design skills preferred
• Able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines
• Copywriting experience a plus

Team: Small team of graphic designer volunteer, PR Consultant volunteer, marketing intern, public relations intern, digital / social media marketing intern.
