Are you a creative person who likes to scrap book? We have an opportunity for you to put your creativity to a wonderful use. We need volunteers to help create memory boards for our dementia/alzheimer patients who are on our Bright Moments program. Bristol Hospice has created a sensory program for our dementia/alzheimers patients. Part of the program is to collect photos and memorabilia from the patients family to create memory boards for them to have at their bedside. This helps bring back beautiful memories. It also helps the family/visitors to have a conversation piece and maybe learn some things about their loved one that they didn't know about.

Bristol Hospice works together with patients and their families to enhance their quality of life. When focus of medical care changes from cure to comfort, Optimal Hospice can provide physical, emotional, practical and spiritual support for the entire family. Combined with a compassionate support system, hospice helps to reduce the overwhelming stress and anxiety that can come along with caring for a loved one with a life limiting illness. Volunteers provide in-home respite care for families/caregivers and provide companionship for our patients.

  • It will vary depending on how many patients are enrolled in the program. It may be 10 hours per month.
  • Bristol requires a TB test and drug screening for all volunteers. It is paid for by Bristol.
