Girls everywhere are discovering the many ways they can explore their passions, learn new skills, and gain exposure to a diversity of career opportunities. In an effort to expose girls to as many different career paths as possible, Girls Empowerment Network has introduced a new virtual volunteer opportunity: Day In The Life! This short video series will give girls a glimpse into the working lives of relatable role models. We are asking our phenomenal volunteers (alongside their colleagues!) to create a 5-8 minute video that encapsulates their daily work functions, their company culture, and the skills they exercise while on the job.
Do you want to contribute a Day In The Life video but aren’t sure what you should talk about?
Here’s a great place to begin: focus on ensuring that your video represents 3 or 4 departments at your company/organization. This is a great time to collaborate with your colleagues! Each individual featured in the Day In The Life video can focus on different aspects of their career and what makes their job position unique. By intentionally including diverse job positions and departmental representation in your video, you help show girls the plethora of opportunities available to them in the working world. Be sure to check out our FAQ page before getting started!

Girls Empowerment Network's mission is to ignite the power in girls by teaching them the skills to thrive and believe in their ability to be unstoppable.
Girls Empowerment Network (GIRLS) increases girls' self-efficacy by: 1. Equipping them with the skills they need to navigate the dangers and pressures of adolescence. 2. Forging healthy, supportive bonds so they know they are never alone. 3. Surrounding them with relatable role models who encourage, inspire, and guide. GIRLS has numerous programs that serve girls in Central Texas, Houston, and Dallas in grades 3-12, including after-school programming, workshops, and an annual statewide, multi-city We Are Girls Conference.
