Mission Statement
San Juan CASA’s mission is to support effective volunteer advocacy for the best interest of abused and neglected children involved in the court system, and to ensure that every child has a safe, supportive and permanent home.
Description
A CASA is a trained community volunteer appointed by the Children’s Court Judge to speak for the best interests of a child brought before the court due to abuse or neglect. Becoming a CASA volunteer is a chance to:
- Give back to the community;
- Take on a challenge, learn new things, make new friends;
- Explore a career path;
- Work alongside attorneys and social workers to better understand the system.

- 1 Year
- In order to become a CASA volunteer you must be 21 or older, pass a background check, commit to 1 year of service, volunteer 6-10 hours a month, visit CASA child once a month, and attend Pre-Service Training.
