Provide the ultimate gift of giving and contribute a little of your time and your heart to be a Companion visitor for patients on Compassus Hospice. Companion volunteers visit with patients and engage in activities of the patient's choice, such as reading, reminiscing, playing cards or just chatting. For many patients, companionship at the end of life is vital. If you feel called to be present for someone in this manner and support them on their journey, please call Kim Iannacci at 978 777-8222 or email at Kimberly.Iannacci@compassus.com. Covid testing is required to visit all patients.
You can make a difference in someone's life at the end of life!

At Compassus Hospice, our mission is to preserve each patient’s dignity while removing the fear associated with dying through pain management, emotional and spiritual support. We deliver our care services wherever our patients call home, whether that home is a private home, an apartment, an assisted living community, a skilled nursing center or, in some cases, a hospital. Our service area includes Newburyport down to Revere, Ayer, Westford, Lowell, Haverhill, Salem, Malden, Medford, Stoneham, Peabody, Andover/N. Andover, Chelmsford, Wilmington and Billerica to name just some of the towns.
Compassus Hospice volunteers play a vital role in carrying out our mission to preserve each patient’s dignity while removing the fear associated with dying. Individuals who are 18 and older who are willing to share one to four hours per week are encouraged to apply to our program. Serving as a volunteer will enrich your own life in ways you can’t begin to imagine.
No previous experience in the medical field is necessary, and you will be prepared for your role with a free, comprehensive training program. This training will help you learn how to provide emotional support, companionship and respite care to patients and families.
