Are you passionate about hospice care, the aging community, and would love to make a difference by providing quality care for patients and support for their families?
Join Divine Light Hospice, where we provide "Quality Care for Quality Life."
We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our Divine Light family! The Direct Patient Volunteer position is a role trained to provide in-person relief for patient caregivers and companionship for our terminally ill patients. Visits can vary from simply chatting and storytelling, reading aloud, playing games, or celebrating their birthday. There are so many ways to make a big impact on their lives.This position is a great flexible schedule position for anyone who is looking to work with these communities. No prior experience is necessary, just a desire to help someone in need. We provide training to ensure that you are comfortable and ready to assist those in need. All volunteers are provided with PPE to ensure safety for both the patient and the volunteer.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license, current auto insurance policy, and a reliable source of personal transportation
- Must be able to show proof of negative COVID-19 test results or proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- Must be willing to go through a background check and other screenings prior to training

Description
Divine Light Hospice volunteers are trained to meet the needs of families and patients by providing companionship and short-term respite care. These volunteers are hand-selected and trained. Following reference and background checks, these individuals complete extensive training prior to working with patients. Volunteers make things easier by offering caregiver relief, companionship, sharing of special interests, and activity bonding with patients. Volunteers are also given the opportunity to help the office with clerical and administrative work. We are always looking for quality volunteers.
