MacOS Tech Support for person living with ALS
ALS is a disease that takes away the ability to control your muscles including the ability to type. Help a woman retain her independence by upgrading her compatible MacOS to catalina and enabling voice control accessibility. Prior to upgrade, need to confirm all data is stored on icloud and, if not, be able to perform a backup with Chapter provided data storage solution. To do this job you must have significant IT experience and expertise using MacOS and providing remote support to customers.
This person living with ALS is located in Western Washington, Snohomish county. All technical support must be done remotely (with assistance from an onsite caregiver) due to the risk of COVID exposure. An ideal candidate, but not required, would live local and be as needed IT support for her as need’s change due to ALS (once COVID exposure is no longer at a high-risk level.)
Must have own computer, remote software will be provided (if requested). Support provided by the Assistive Technology Program Manager at the ALSA Evergreen Chapter. Background check, interview, and references required. Volunteer will be required to maintain client confidentiality.
