VOLUNTEER DRIVERS
We are looking for Volunteer Drivers to transport clients to their medical appointments. Our drivers use their own personal vehicle and transport clients to long distance locations such as Seattle, Spokane, Try-City's, Walla Walla, Portland Oregon, Wenatchee, etc. Drivers must have freeway experience, and must own a reliable and economical vehicle. Drivers are reimbursed .58 cents per mile and receive meal reimbursement with receipt as well. Drivers pick clients up at their homes, nursing homes, hospitals.
We provide professional, experienced drivers who provide you with door to door service.
This is a perfect opportunity for a person who is retired but NOT TIRED, or a person who has income but would like to supplement it with mileage reimbursement.
Drivers that do best in this position are good with people and love to travel and see new places and help others. They enjoy driving and are knowledgeable of demographic's and GPS devices. The are familiar with freeway driving and are not afraid of driving in larger cities.
If you are a retired school bus driver, UBER driver, Semi-Truck Driver, or any person who has been serving others and you want to continue your trade but want to slow down a little and enjoy life, this Volunteer Opportunity is perfect for you.
OTHER QUALLIFICATIONS
- Drivers must pass a criminal history background check
- Have a clean driver history/abstract
- Able to pass a Drug Test
- Must turn in a Physical Ability form and a Physical release from your physician
- Are physically able to drive long distances
- Have proper insurance in vehicle (100/300/100)
- Can use a computer and fill our paper work
- Have a cell phone (used for communication while driving)
- Must be able to read and write in English (Spanish speaking is a plus)
- First Aid/CPR
- Defensive Driving
- Fire Safety
- Car Seat Safety
Our drivers are required to wear a mask and practice safety measures outlined by CDC and our agency. Clients are expected to wear and mask as well. Vehicles must be completely sanitized after each use.

Protran East provides long distance Non-Emergent Medical Transportation services to clients who are low income, elderly, disabled and/or do not have available transportation getting to and from their important medical appointments.
Description
Protran East provides more than 80 rides a month to clients who are low income, elderly and/or do not have transportation services. We service in Yakima, Try-City's, Kittitas, Walla Walla. Our clients receive door to door transportation in the comfort of private owned vehicles driven by professional drivers. We strive to provide affordable, dependable transportation services and pride ourselves on being the only Volunteer Driver NEMT Service in Eastern Washington.
