JOB DESCRIPTION

Townspeople is looking for an eager individual who is ready to serve our most vulnerable here in the San Diego area! Alongside the Support Services Staff, the Outreach Assistant will call and screen potential Townspeople clients from our Official Waitlist. They will assist staff in maintaining the Waitlist and ensuring all potential clients are contacted.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in maintaining the Official Townspeople Waitlist
  • Interact with clients on a frequent basis
  • Respond to client’s various questions via phone and email
  • Determine a client’s eligibility & guide them to the appropriate service
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism with clients and working to establish a positive rapport with every potential client

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Ability to:

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal information of applicants, current and former clients, landlords and other matters affecting tenant relations.
  • Remain professional and courteous with clients at all times
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be a self-starter with a positive attitude

Education and Experience:

  • One or more years of nonprofit-related experience
  • Junior or Senior College Student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with a focus on healthcare, psychology, sociology, social work, public administration, or a related field
  • OR Bachelor's Degree with a focus on healthcare, psychology, sociology, social work, public administration, or a related field
