Are you fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)? You can become friends with a retirement home resident through weekly video chats!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, retirement homes are not allowing visitors. To lift the residents' spirits, Brighten A Day volunteers participate in video chats with them. A few of the retirement homes with whom Brighten A Day works have residents who would like to participate in conversations with ASL speaking volunteers. Brighten A Day is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to lift the spirits of those who are in need of some cheer by sending them love, hope, and joy through cards and gifts. We want to help overcome the loneliness epidemic, and our vision is that people everywhere will have a reason to smile.
We have reached tens of thousands of people throughout the United States and in many other countries and are continuing to reach more people!
