Mandate for Action: JA Initiative

In 2018, the Arthritis Foundation began an on-line assessment which to date has been taken by close to 40,000 people. This data has helped us shape our programming and research efforts as we now better understand what the needs are for adults with arthritis. We have given them a voice!

In 2021, we launched a new assessment for parents who have a child with arthritis. We are asking them to take the assessment and, through this data, determine the needs for both the parents and their child so we can shape our programming and research efforts accordingly.

Intern Project:

We are looking for an intern to assist us in our outreach to these families in the following ways:

• Combine and de-dupe multiple excel lists to create one list for JA outreach
• Create (6) social media posts that include the assessment for our Facebook and Instagram pages
• Create videos of a child with arthritis and/or parents with a child with arthritis encouraging other families to take this assessment
• Create a year long email campaign (6 emails so we can send bi-monthly) encouraging parents to take the assessment
• Reach out to our JA families (we will provide the list) by phone or email asking them to help us with a JA research by taking the assessment
• Goal is to have 25 surveys completed by the end of the internship with a year long plan to hit a goal of 100 by 12/31/22

Additional Information:

• Intern will have to sign a confidentiality agreement since they will be receiving personal information
• We will provide the intern with our NJ gmail account and password to use when sending emails so they do not have to use their personal account
