ORGANIZATION: The Volunteer Center of Randolph County, a program of the United Way of Randolph County

The volunteer patient navigator will provide additional non-clinical support and assistance for patients and families/caregivers navigating the Randolph Cancer Center. Volunteer patient navigators are trained to assist patients and caregivers throughout the continuum of their cancer journey in order to decrease anxiety by increasing support and access to information. Volunteer patient navigators are trained to identify barriers of care and will have knowledge on up-to-date resources to help overcome common barriers.

Description

The center is a comprehensive resource center for volunteers and programs that utilize the services of volunteers. The center will recruit and refer volunteers and help agencies effectively orient, train, retain, recognize and evaluate volunteers.
