Our home-away-from-home apartments have window air conditioners (28). Each year we store them, clean and fix them up, then re-install them in spring. We need help with cleaning them and repairing, as needed. If volunteers can also help install them, that's a big help, but not required.

About TRANSPLANT HOUSE OF CLEVELAND
Location:
2029 E 115TH ST, CLEVELAND, OH 44106, US
Mission Statement
Only 4% of U.S. medical centers have organ transplant programs. Therefore, most who require a transplant as treatment for end-stage organ disease must travel away from home to receive that care. The effect of this kind of travel on families is profoundly complicated, both emotionally and logistically, and financially burdensome. The length of time away from home (as well as family, work, care of a house, and all familiar forms of support) can range from days to several months. For some, the time can be a year or longer. Transplant House of Cleveland provides affordable, temporary housing and a welcoming, supportive community to organ transplant patients and their families.
Description
Transplant House of Cleveland welcomed its first guest family in 2014, and has since served over 1,000 transplant patients and their families. "The House" is actually 25 separate, home-away-from-home apartments that are fully furnished. In addition to housing, Transplant House also provides programming such as support groups and community dinners.
