The Washington State Science & Engineering Fair (WSSEF) will be virtual in 2021 due to COVID mandates and protocols.

JUDGES: Students will present their science and engineering inquiry research based projects virtually. In order to provide the students with best judging experience, the WSSEF requires judges willing to listen to projects and score them. Training is available.

TECHNICIANS: Furthermore, WSSEF needs people familiar with, or willing to train, to be moderators during the judging sessions. The judging is using multiple zoom platforms simultaneously in order to facilitate several hundred student projects.

Description

The Washington State Science & Engineering Fair (WSSEF) is one of Washington State's oldest non-profit educational organizations outside the classroom.

For more than 67 years, the WSSEF volunteers have one goal -- "To Promote Future Scientists and Engineers" to all public, private, parochial and home school students grades 1 - 12. This is accomplished by hosting an inquiry based research project STEM competition.

WSSEF gives students a forum so everyone, whether from a downtown metropolis or rural Washington students present their projects to judges listening to their innovative concepts. WSSEF encourages kids and lets them know they are appreciated; they have value, and valuable ideas.

YOUR volunteering to judge and monetary contributions are important and 100% is dedicated to the students. WSSEF does not receive state funding, school education funds or other subsidies. WSSEF depends solely on sponsorships, donations and volunteers.
