This program will allow each of you to connect with multiple patients if you are willing and able. In this
program each volunteer would be able to write, color pictures, and send photographs to let our patients
know we are still thinking of them. Many of our patients have been confined to only to their bedroom. This
can be very upsetting because many of our patients don't understand why they are not being able to visit in person with their family members and friends.
Sending encouraging and happy letters to let him or her know they are not alone is a great way to
continue our volunteering through social distancing. Now something special about this pen pal program is
that it will most likely be a one way experience, meaning your patient might not write back but that is okay. Getting a letter in the mail will make each patient feel cared about and know he or she is not forgotten. It is important to promote stable mental health. This is a very difficult time for everyone.
