  • 1 person is interested

Background

The HomeMore Project is a 501(C)3 Non-Profit Organization based in San Francisco, California focusing on providing innovative and unique solutions to aid the homeless community in SF. At HomeMore, we are looking for creative and determined minds who have a passion for assisting in developing communities. We differentiate ourselves from other charities and housing organizations, because one of our main beliefs is that the homeless industry is more than just providing housing. Long term, we believe that we can be the organization that clears up the streets and most importantly provides an avenue for individuals to get off of the street and back onto their feet.

The Board of Directors will be comprised of six to ten individuals focusing on advancing the company's brand and mission. Our main goal for our Board of Directors is to be verbally involved in our company and what we are striving towards. We will never ask our board for any financial contributions or donations, we are looking for Board Members who can provide experience, knowledge and connections specifically in the field of Accounting.

  • Understand the organization’s mission, projects, and desires
  • Attend monthly internship meeting to provide insight and opinions on the projects that we are developing
  • Assist in determining the mission and purposes of the organization
  • Approving and monitoring the organization’s projects and services

Desired Skills

  • Preferable Location would be in the Bay Area or California, although everything for the foreseeable future will be completely remote so location is not a priority
  • Share connections, networks, and resources to advance the organization’s mission and projects
  • Identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and experience

Working Environment

  • At HomeMore, we are fundamentally trying to change the landscape for how non profits in the homeless industry function. Our goal is to bring people together; regardless of political agenda, background, location, race, religion, etc. The crisis of homelessness in San Francisco is one that is continuing to grow, and has arguably seen zero innovation for the past 40 years. We are here to provide San Francisco with that innovation.

Description

The HomeMore Project History

The HomeMore Project was founded in July 2020, months after the COVID-19 pandemic began. Our founder, Zac Clark, was in his second year at the University of San Francisco when he moved into his first apartment in a neighborhood called the "Tenderloin" in San Francisco, California. It is home to roughly 30-40% of San Francisco's homeless population, spanning only 16 blocks. During the pandemic, there were no tourists, and most corporate workers had left. Therefore, the only individuals that Clark interacted with were those experiencing homelessness. These interactions are what led Clark to found "The HomeMore Project."
