Background

The HomeMore Project is a 501(C)3 Non-Profit Organization based in San Francisco, California focusing on providing innovative and unique solutions to aid the homeless community in SF. At HomeMore, we are looking for creative and determined minds who have a passion for assisting in developing communities. We differentiate ourselves from other charities and housing organizations, because one of our main beliefs is that the homeless industry is more than just providing housing. Long term, we believe that we can be the organization that clears up the streets and most importantly provides an avenue for individuals to get off of the street and back onto their feet.

The Board of Directors will be comprised of six to ten individuals focusing on advancing the company's brand and mission. Our main goal for our Board of Directors is to be verbally involved in our company and what we are striving towards. We will never ask our board for any financial contributions or donations, we are looking for Board Members who can provide experience, knowledge and connections specifically in the field of Accounting.

  • Serve as a mentor for our company in ensuring that we are in accordance with non profit tax lawss
  • Understand the organization’s mission, projects, and desires
  • Attend monthly internship meeting to provide insight and opinions on the projects that we are developing
  • Assist in determining the mission and purposes of the organization
  • Approving and monitoring the organization’s projects and services

Desired Skills

  • Preferable Location would be in the Bay Area or California, although everything for the foreseeable future will be completely remote so location is not a priority

  • Identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and experience

Working Environment

  • At HomeMore, we are fundamentally trying to change the landscape for how non profits in the homeless industry function. Our goal is to bring people together; regardless of political agenda, background, location, race, religion, etc. The crisis of homelessness in San Francisco is one that is continuing to grow, and has arguably seen zero innovation for the past 40 years. We are here to provide San Francisco with that innovation.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to uplift the homeless community in San Francisco by building a culture of transparent and genuine relationships, while focusing on the centralization of resources and providing realistic, yet innovative solutions to an ongoing crisis.

Description

The HomeMore Project began in July of 2020 with a focus on providing an out-of-the-box perspective to the homeless industry in San Francisco. The Homeless Crisis has existed for over 40 years in San Francisco and is an ongoing issue that is relevant throughout the world. Why are we different? Well, Our Vision is to provide homeless individuals with not only shelter, but the resources, connections, and personnel to assist in their transition back to society. We categorize ourselves as more than just a homeless shelter. Most organizations and charities have an almighty goal of providing shelter for homeless individuals. At HomeMore, providing a shelter is only the first step. Residents will take part in a our proposed process , where they will be provided with adequate housing, nutrition options, extensive mental and physical healthcare, real world educators and employers, as well as a wide variety of other resources and care that is needed to make a successful transition. We want to build a culture consisting of genuine individuals who have a passion for helping one another. We recognize that this is an enormous challenge for HomeMore, the city, and everyone involved. Although, we believe with the help of the city, Bay Area companies and generous individuals, we can accomplish our goal.
