Board members in PianoArts support pianists seeking professional careers and provide opportunities for them to perform with Milwaukee professional instrumentalists, singers, actors, and dancers. Fellowships bring the young pre-prefessionals to Milwaukee. Board members are advocates, fund raisers, hosts, and mentors. Board members from diverse communities are welcome. Our pre-professional pianists are also from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Skills for board members range from accounting to marketing to arts management.

Mission Statement

The mission of PianoArts is to develop innovative ways to foster appreciation and performance of classical music. This is accomplished by identifying and training new generations of pianists with exceptional musical and verbal communication skills, preparing them for performance and presenting them to diverse audiences.

Description

PianoArts hosts a North American competition during the even years (2018) for pianists, ages 16-21, and a Wisconsin competition in the odd years (2019) for youth ages 10-16.

Throughout the season, PianoArts winners, awarded fellowships, perform education concerts. PianoArts also presents concerts performed by classical pianists and sponsors a music festival that runs concurrently with the competition. We partner with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
