Volunteers are needed to help us expand the days and hours that we are able to offer Open Gym at the Hive indoor recreational facility located at Lazy 5 Regional Park in Spanish Springs, The Hive is a uniquely designed 5,000 sq. ft. dome building, originally designed to store sand and salt for roads. It has recently been repurposed to serve as a recreation facility for the public. The Hive now features a full basketball court and is striped for two pickleball courts. This facility is located adjacent to the skate park and just west of the Nevada playground in the lower park near the soccer fields.
We rely on volunteers to keep the Hive open for public use. Park Rangers are looking for volunteers to help with the following duties:
- supervise basketball and/or pickleball "open gym"
- open and close the Hive facility
