ROCKBlue is an international non-profit with a mission to provide water and sanitation to over 1 billion of the world’s poor that currently lack these basic, life-giving, essentials. Founded in 2013 and a registered charity in the US and South Africa, ROCKBlue is currently in five countries, working with 18 towns/cities that provide water and sanitation to over 5 million people. Online Lecture SeriesThe purpose of the OLS is to share the knowledge of our world class specialists with as many people as possible in a convenient and effective manner.
ROCKBlue believes in "open source" sharing. Sharing of all that we do and learn. This includes the knowledge of our specialists and partners. In particular, the knowledge associated with the UN Sustainable Development Goal Six (SDG6). SDG6 calls for the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by 2030.
Our Online Lecture Series (https://www.rockblue.org/ols/ ) shares information related to urban water and sanitation. This information consists of the lessons we have learned in our years of existence. And, importantly, the rich body of knowledge from our roster of over 110 specialists. We document their lessons learned by interviewing them on an array of currently-faced challenges.
We use many channels to disseminate this information to as wide an audience as possible. This has included workshops, blog posts, social media, and our website. The alarming challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, however, drove us to a more innovative approach - a hallmark of ROCKBlue. That is, our Online Lecture Series. These are web-based lectures presented by our specialists. The lectures inform a wide audience on today’s urgent water and sanitation matters.
To ensure our Series’ reach to thousands we convert them into shareable videos. These are complemented with educational content and resources. Combined, we are building a vast library of knowledge from which the sector as a whole will benefit. Currently, about 1,000 have signed up for our OLS from 50 countries.
OLS Volunteer. ROCKBlue has an immediate opening for a OLS volunteer. This person will be working remotely/virtually.
Broadly, the individual should have demonstrated skill and dedication in a similar team management role on past assignments. If it appears to be a positive working relationship then the assignment would be continued indefinitely. Due to working with senior management, there is an opportunity for advancement including the possibility of this becoming a paid position and a full-time role. The work and position will look favorably on one’s resume. Especially for someone needing leadership, management, international, video marketing and development experience.
You will also learn management software tools such as Trello, Clockify, Slack, G-Suite/Google Drive, etc. This is an exciting position as it will avail the candidate to both senior level management as well as the humanitarian work that we do and with our partners from all over the world. The scope of activities includes:
Activities- Help with leadership and management for ROCKBlue’s OLS Initiative
- Regular updates to the Chief Marketing Officer
- Help ensure OLS has the resources it needs to be successful such as IT support
- Help ensure the OLS is meeting its objectives
- Assist the Marketing & Communication team with marketing and communication of OLS events
- Help ensure that the ROCKBlue branding is consistent with OLS communication

ROCKBlue aims to solve the growing gap between reliable water supply and accelerating urban demand. We are a nonprofit that leverages a large network of highly experienced specialists. ROCKBlue focuses on strengthening the ability of water and sanitation utilities to provide these services to the poorest in cities and towns across the developing world.
ROCKBlue accomplishes this mission through respectful and mutually beneficial partnerships with both public utilities in the developing world and with the international donors and lenders supporting these utilities.
