Front Porch's Well Connected and Well Connected Español programs provide free virtual social connection to older adults across the U.S., many of whom are living with health, mobility and other issues. To be accessible to low-vision and blind participants, we make our program materials available in audio versions that are mailed to blind or low-vision participants on flash drives containing MP3 files.
The volunteer audio recorder will record materials either using their smartphone or computer mic. Making MP3 files of our catalogue and calendars can take between 2 - 10 hours, depending on the amount of volunteers we have available. Training provided virtually.
Ideally we are seeking volunteers who can commit to recording materials three times a year (March, July and November), however we will not turn away anyone who can only commit to fewer times a year.
