Wish List Project for Nursing Homes

Save to Favorites

InterFaith Works of Central New York

The pandemic continues to separate nursing home residents from their community. Staff are often times unable to spend large amounts of time with residents. Let's bring these seniors the opportunity to develop relationships with a member of their community, offer a project they can participate in independently, and bring some joy to their space by granting their wishes.

How to participate:

1) Write a letter to someone living in a nursing home and send to us.

2) To your letter, we will add a wish list with items that residents can choose from. Those items include magazines, puzzles, hand lotions and more.

3) When the resident writes back and chooses their desired item, you can either purchase the item OR we will provide the item from our bank of donations.

4) Write a follow up letter which will accompany their gift. Your correspondence might end there or develop into a pen pal relationship. Either way, you will have made a positive impact on a nursing home resident's life. Thank you for bringing a smile to a senior.
