JFS is seeking volunteers with mental health experience to co-facilitate our Orthodox Women's Divorce Support Group.
Volunteers with a master's degree in any mental health field can co-facilitate this support group alongside a JFS staff member. In need of volunteers who are:
- Religious/observant - knows the ins and outs of the Orthodox Jewish world and how divorce would impact women specifically through that lens or someone who has some personal experience with Orthodoxy
- Familiar with the process of group work
- Has effective communication skills
- Available for evening sessions
The group will take place every other Tuesday for one hour at 7:30pm. The group will start in the next couple of weeks and will be only on zoom due to the high numbers of COVID cases in the orthodox community.
JFS has a long history of providing support groups in a number of areas such as, bereavement, caregiving, special needs, and more. Volunteers must have a minimum of a master's degree in a mental health related field. Groups are currently being held virtually but will be held in person once it is safe to do so.
