ORGANIZATION: FOUNDATION FOR FAMILY AND COMMUNITY HEALING

  • 17 people are interested

FFCH's mission is to help all to learn to create healthy and rewarding relationships with ourselves, each other, Earth, and the loving force that unites us. The science of wellbeing shows that healthy relationships are key to our ability to thrive yet few of us are taught to do this. We're about to launch an online education platform offering skill development in these areas to youth and adults, available 24/7, on these wide-ranging topics.

We work with educators who have valuable lessons on these topics to translate their work onto our interactive and beautiful online platform, and walk learners through the behavioral change process that involves reflective and experiential learning. We anticipate that we'll keep growing content over time and the demand from educators to participate will grow since we are offering a share of the profits generated through our collaboration.

We need educators of all backgrounds, especially those with an interest in relationship with self (self awareness), others (friends, family, community), Earth (passionate environmentalists), or the divine (connecting with something greater than ourselves) to help us translate curricula onto our platform, help develop new content, and/or create lesson plans for youth modules.

Mission Statement

FFCH embraces the creation of healthy relationships as central to thriving in this world. We value love, peace, respect, inclusion, fairness, listening, learning and connection. Our approach is to promote and encourage awareness, engagement and right action through knowledge and personal skill development. Our mission is to empower others to create healthy, positive, rewarding relationships with ourselves, each other, Earth, and the loving force greater than ourselves. Our purpose is to help everyone become strong and resilient in times of change, so that we may thrive together as a human family.

Description

FFCH was founded by Susanna Calvert, MAPP, PhD after the loss of her sister and husband to cancer in 2018. We know from science that healthy relationships are key to our ability to have a good life, yet so few of us are taught how to create them. We believe lack of relationship education is at the root of our modern societal challenges including climate change. Thus we offer online educational modules based in skill development, made accessible to all including youth, on topics spanning relationship with self, each other, Earth, and the loving force that unites us.

FFCH is launching its first set of modules in spring 2021 on a range of topics that will keep growing. FFCH also offers several monthly events through the Richmond Earth and Healing Series, including guest speakers, movie/video showings and discussions, panel discussions, and meditations for healing Earth and ourselves.

With this launch, we are on the cusp of much growth. Many of our offerings (like our events) will be free, and a significant fraction of our modules will be available on a name-your-tuition basis, so that they are accessible to everyone.

We believe this is the type of knowledge and skills that we all need to create better lives for everyone, and we need your help to make this ambitious vision come alive for the benefit of all.
