During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
As the vaccine roll out continues in Virginia, many of our elderly and disabled Care Receivers will need rides to vaccine appointments. Sometimes, they are given a few days notice, other times, it is a much shorter notice. These appointments will consist of taking a Care Receiver to a specific location, on a specific date at a specific time and waiting for them in your vehicle while they receive the vaccination. Once they have received the vaccine, they will need to be taken back home. There will be opportunities to be contacted directly about these assignments and there will be opportunities to sign up for these appointments in advance through out volunteer portal.
All social distancing guidelines will be observed and all our of Care Receivers will wear a mask to and from the appointment.
As the vaccine becomes more readily available, these rides will be critical.
