During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
At Loudoun Volunteer Caregivers, we provide many services to our elderly and disabled Care Receivers, and because everything we do is volunteer base, our services are free to those in the community who need them.
We are fortunate to have a core group of wonderful volunteers who go above and beyond for our Care Receivers, but during the time of COVID, we sometimes find our assignments without a volunteer. This is where you would come in, someone from the LVC staff would contact you and see if you could cover the assignment. We would do our best to provide at least 24 hours notice for the need, but the window for notification could be last minute.
Examples of these assignments are:
Medical Rides (Rides to dialysis, chemo, vaccine appointments, etc)
Shopping for Care Receivers
Delivering food from the food banks to Care Receivers
Delivering paper work to Care Receivers for signatures (like a courier service)
Yard Work - especially snow shoveling/ice removal during the Winter months
If you would be interested in being an on call super hero, we would love to hear from you!
While all of these assignments are critical, there will be no pressure for you to take them. It would be based on your avail
