Want to make a difference in your community? Become a CARE Mobile Pantry volunteer and help ensure that the more than 1 million hungry Hoosiers have food on their table and go to bed healthy and happy.

Mobile pantry volunteers will load pre-boxed food boxes of meat, dairy, and fresh produce into client cars as they come through our drive-through distribution. Volunteers are also needed to direct traffic into, through, and out of the building. This event does take place outdoors.

You will serve more than between 200 and 500 households each day you volunteer.

• Some heavy lifting is involved - up to 30 lbs. For example, a daily distribution could look like:
  • Produce boxes weighing 10 lbs
  • Bags of apples or oranges weighing 5 lbs each
  • Loose cabbages weighing 1 pound each
  • Cheese or butter weighing 1 pound each
  • Half gallons of milk weighing 5 lbs each
  • Frozen meat product (like chicken nuggets) weighing 5 lbs each
  • Cartons of eggs weighing 1 pound each
  • Pre-boxed dairy, produce, and meat boxes weighing up to 30 lbs

• Accommodations can be made if needed. Just let us know!

No experience required - we'll train you at the start of your first shift! No commitments required, you can volunteer for one shift or as many as you would like!

**Fully vaccinated volunteers are not required to wear a mask or face covering.
