Domestic violence, substance abuse and mental health issues are some of the reasons there are so many children who have been taken from their parents and placed into the foster care system or in group homes. There are currently over 1,100 children in the foster care system in Pasco County alone. Out of those, there are still over 500 of these abused, neglected or abandoned children still waiting for someone to be their voice. That someone is a Guardian ad Litem volunteer whose mission is to speak up for a child’s best interest in court. That someone can be YOU.

YOU CAN make a life long difference for a child by becoming a Guardian ad Litem!

If you have ever wanted to make a difference in a child’s life now is the time and we invite you to attend an online information session to learn more about how you can help. To register: www.herotoachild.org (Calendar events)or call 727-834-3493, ext. 3768. Want to help, but can’t commit to becoming a Guardian ad Litem? Contact Erin Authier at Erina@galf6.org.

There are currently over 1100 abused, neglected or abandoned children in Pasco County alone in the foster care system. Over half of these children are still waiting for someone to be their voice.
