Primary Purpose: This Volunteer supports the work of the Area Management Team (AMT) and the progress of athletes by working closely with the Area Director to determine what the Area's needs are. This volunteer shares their strengths and passions with the Area Director to determine best suited position available or join our team as one of the following positions (if available): Appreciation Coordinator, Training Coordinator, Athlete Leadership Coordinator, Sports and Competition Coordinator, Games Data Coordinator, Communication Coordinator, Public Relations Coordinator, Health Coordinator, Raffle Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Head Coach, Special Events Coordinator, etc.
Primary Duties
- Attend monthly AMT meetings as well as all Area Games committee meetings as needed.
- Further responsibilities will be determined as the position is created further.
Experience/KNOWLEDGE: Prior experience with a nonprofit organization or sports organization preferred. Ability to supervise and effectively delegate to other volunteers. The ability to communicate openly and in a timely manner. Must complete Class A volunteer application and screening process through Special Olympics Montana.
TRAINING PROVIDED: New coordinator orientation and position-specific training provided by Special Olympics Montana staff. Ongoing training provided annually.
COMPENSATION: Smiles, hugs, and lifelong friendship! This is a volunteer, non-paid position. Allowable expense reimbursements are available.
