During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
MUST REGISTER AT: https://events.thehoneycombproject.org/event/5ff5ac1338139d0017308a05
Your family will coordinate with other Honeycomb volunteers to prepare a healthy and home-cooked meal for youth served by Ignite, an organization dedicated to supporting Chicago youth experiencing housing instability and homelessness. Your family will be responsible to prepare and deliver one dish for 30 people as part of a larger meal organized by other Honeycomb families (just like a potluck!)
COVID-19 has impacted Ignite’s ability to access vital resources for their clients at the Belfort House, a 24-bed transitional housing program located in Bronzeville. The meal you prepare helps improves access to nutritious foods and provides the comfort of home-cooked meal to youth experiencing homelessness.
Take NotEYour family will gather and pack donations at your home. The event time listed is intended for donation drop off only.
Work together as a family to plan and prepare your meal! After registering for this project, you will be directed to a Google Doc where you will sign-up to bring one dish. You can select from our recommended dishes or prepare a favorite family recipe. In most cases, you should plan to triple your recipe to serve 30 people.
Health and safety is our priority. This is an outdoor, contact-free donation drop off. We require that you wear a face mask and practice social distancing when delivering donations. Please adhere to CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Stay tuned for additional details to help you prepare for the day!
