Best Friends Animal Society is on a mission to end the killing of cats and dogs in America's shelters by 2025. Want to help save lives?
We have a NEW volunteer opportunity for animal-loving attorneys and those with experience in the legal field!
Best Friends Animal Society is looking for legal volunteers to assist with research and interpretation of state open records/public information/FOIA request laws in various states. Volunteers will also submit freedom of information requests for specific shelters and animal control facilities to collect annual animal shelter intake and outcome statistics to help Best Friends understand where dogs and cats are dying across the country. This critical work will allow us to directly target our programs to save the lives of the most at-risk animals and guide our work toward achieving a No Kill nation by 2025.

Black, Indigenous, People of color and LGBTQIA+ individuals are strongly encouraged to volunteer.
Every day, nearly 2,000 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters. But every day, there's something all of us can do to help save those animals. Together, we can Save Them All.
