Event Description:
Join City of Raleigh Parks staff as we install new tee-pads at Kentwood Park's disk golf course!

We have three rain dates built in for each installation day. Those will act as backup dates in case weather does not permit us to work on the original dates. Please note, if the rain dates are not needed, those dates will be canceled.

Duties:
Volunteers will help build the frames, grade and back fill with ABC stone, and pour/finish cement with the assistance of our Parks Staff to help guide. This project may be strenuous depending on what part of the course we are working on.

Impact:
Volunteers will be replacing tee-pads in the park so that disk golf players have new surfaces to throw from.

Work Environment:
We will be working outside, so please dress for the weather! The ground will be uneven and steep at some areas. This project may be physically demanding. There are restrooms on site.

Requirements:
Each volunteer must register through CERVIS. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to participate. All volunteers will need to fill out a volunteer release form.

Other Information:
We will provide tools, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, and a first aid kit. Volunteers need to wear loose comfortable clothing that can get dirty, and closed-toe shoes. Please bring your own filled water bottle.

COVID-19 Policy:
Volunteers and staff must follow the COVID-19 policies below so that projects are safe for everyone.

  • Everyone must wear a face mask or face shield throughout the project (not provided)
  • Social distancing must be practiced (6-feet between individuals)
  • Individuals must participate in infrared temperature checks upon arrival
  • State, federal, and local mandates must be followed
  • If you have been out of state two weeks prior to the event, please do not register

Group Registration Information:

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
