Make a positive difference in the life of an actively dying hospice patient. Vigil Volunteers receive special training at HealthONE Hospice to become part of the patient's holistic hospice team-- Doctor, RN, Chaplain, Social Worker and you! As a Vigil Volunteer, you provide comfort and a peaceful presence when the patient's death is imminent.
Serious interested parties only, please. **Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, TB test, successfully complete orientation. **

Our hospice volunteers make a tremendous and positive difference in the lives of hospice patients, their families, our staff-- everyone they meet. You are specifically trained to support the hospice patient in a variety of ways: sit with patients, play cards, play an instrument, sing, tell jokes, talk with families, provide spiritual care, or even sit vigil with an actively dying person. You can also help in our admin office, Our hospice volunteers provide incredible compassionate companionship to those facing terminal illness.
Description
We put the patient and family first, and recognize staff make a positive difference in their lives. Hospice Volunteers provide compassionate companionship in a variety of ways to hospice patients throughout the Colorado Springs area. Self-paced training and flexible scheduling. For Patient Safety: must pass a background check, drug screen, 2-step TB test. Possess a valid driver's license and current insurance (if you drive to patient's location).
