WHAT WE ARE

Habitat Young Professionals are volunteers who work within Comal County to create change in the community by building homes, communities, and hope. Through the diverse demographic of young professionals and their talents, chapters create unity in sharing the vision of Habitat for Humanity.

WHO WE ARE

The Habitat Young Professionals of Comal County (HYP) is a group comprised of young, dynamic individuals ages 21 to 39. Comal County Habitat for Humanity seeks to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

WHAT WE DO

We are young professionals who come from a variety of backgrounds, talents and resources to advance the mission of building safe, decent, and affordable homes. Comal County Habitat for Humanity provides young professionals the opportunities to volunteer, advocate, and network.

HYP provides support for Comal County Habitat for Humanity through community builds and service, fundraisers and advocacy. As a young professionals group, we focus on becoming more capable leaders through professional development activities with the aim to also expand into networking events.

WHY WE DO IT

Housing prices in Comal County continue to rise, making it difficult for low-income families to find safe and decent housing. Comal County Habitat for Humanity offers them the opportunity to buy an affordable home at lower mortgage rates with zero interest. HYP is committed to this goal and to the professional development of New Braunfels' leaders. HYP helps its members develop and improve their leadership skills through a variety of social, service, and educational opportunities. It's also a great opportunity for those interested in being on a board member, to educate our future families, participate and create space for transformational leadership and professional development.
