Girls on the Run of Silicon Valley
Girls on the Run is the social-emotional program for girls that teaches confidence, compassion, and critical thinking. The program also helps build connection and resilience, which are critical right now, as children and adults are dealing with the emotions of these trying times. Girls on the Run is a life-changing, social-emotional learning program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. Our mission is to inspire and empower girls to live joyful, confident, and healthy lives. Our proven, research-based curriculum creatively uses running as a tool to teach life skills that increase confidence, critical-thinking, and conflict-resolution skills.
Girls on the Run of Silicon Valley (GOTRSV) was founded in 2002, the first Girls on the Run council in California. Over the past 19 years, GOTRSV has impacted more than 20,000 girls in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties.
The Girls on the Run curriculum is one of only three after-school programs recognized by the Harvard Graduate School of Education as a top social-emotional learning (SEL) experience for kids.
