Mission Statement
Our mission is to improve and enrich the lives of parrots through rescue, rehabilitative fostering, adoption and education.
Description
St. Louis Avian Rescue is a foster based group that provides re-homing services for companion birds in a variety of forms of distress: from those recovered out of doors, those whose caretakers can no longer provide for them (due to illness or other changes), to neglected and actively abused birds.
These birds are taken in, provided with both acute and long term vetrinary care, and placed in foster homes where the complex emotional and social needs of companion birds can be met on an individual basis. In addition to providing a healthy family atmosphere, our fosters work to improve the adoptability of each bird - addressing behavioral issues and providing training and socialization.
