A Child for All ("ACFA") is a U.S. non-profit organization with current operations in Bamako, the capital of Mali in West Africa. ACFA provides a safe and loving environment for vulnerable children who had been living on the streets with no future. Over 10 years ago, twelve children were welcomed into the home that our founder grew up in and they receive the nourishment, education, health care and attention necessary to thrive - and they are doing great, especially with sports and school. Given the growing number of vulnerable children in the area, ACFA has just opened the Zorokoro Children's Complex in the village of Zorokoro with a goal of helping 100 more vulnerable children. Only 45 minutes from Bamako, the Zorokoro Children’s Complex now has a dormitory where toddlers ages 3-5 year olds are living.
The ACFA school at the Zorokoro Children’s complex has opened for pre-K and kindergarten for the ACFA toddlers as well as children from the surrounding villages. Underway also at the Complex are plans for a healthcare clinic, a library and computer lab and a sports complex. We are looking for funding to finish construction and for certain operations. ACFA’s U.S. based Board of Directors works with staff in Mali to further ACFA's vision to empower Mali's children to achieve a future they deserve is only continued by the work of our supporters and volunteers across the globe. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:
ACFA is looking for a volunteer Grant Researcher who will work with ACFA to help with research into potential grant opportunities. The volunteer shall have the ability to work both independently and as a team player. We already have a part-time Grant Writer, and this is a support position to help us research what opportunities are available.
This position is a remote position and would require a commitment of at least 10 hours a month.

Our current goals are two folds:
Short term goal: GOAL ATTAINED-ABOVE AND BEYOND
We initally intended to raise enough funds to rent a house of the vulnerable children. Instead, thanks to donors like yourself, a house has been donated to us, hence we don't need to spend our scarce financial resources on rent. WE WILL OPEN DOORS TO MALIAN VULNERABLE CHILDREN IN JUNE 2010.
Long term goal: In the long term we would raise enough funds to build our own orphanage on our piece of property.
