ORGANIZATION: GIVING EXCHANGE

TGE

The Giving Exchange is a non-profit organization that implements small-scale, high-impact, self-sustaining projects around the world. Much of our work is currently focused in Kenya. We have implemented dozens of projects over the years and we are looking to form a team of volunteers to assist our Project Manager in managing both new and old projects. This year we are emphasizing aggregate measurement: how do we measure the impact of each of these projects both individually and cumulatively?

We are looking for 2-3 Project Coordinators/Researchers. Experience in project management, training and/or data analysis/measurement will be a strength. Together your team will research details pertaining to new project applications (we often receive incomplete or confusing applications, sometimes from people who need the help the most. Rather than turning these applicants away, we like to research the ask, the needs, and the possible solutions to help these underserved communities), and track and measure the impact and growth of old projects.

There is room for growth and mobility in this role: as you become familiar with The Giving Exchange and our beneficiaries, you may own certain projects and communications directly on your own.

Hours are flexible, but you must be dedicated and responsive. We are very understanding of conflicts or other more pressing obligations, but please communicate with us honestly. We are asking for a 6 month commitment, and would love to keep this position on for much longer.

You will report directly to the Project Manager, who is based in Portland, OR.

**TO VOLUNTEER FOR THIS POSITION please e-mail us directly at info*at*thegivingexchange.net with the subject line "#volunteerapp". Attach your resume, and in the body of the e-mail please write a brief paragraph detailing why you want to volunteer for The Giving Exchange: what drew you to TGE? how do your passions align with our mission? what specific skills to you have that we will find helpful?

Mission Statement

The mission of The Giving Exchange is to improve the economic and social conditions of underprivileged communities around the world by promoting sustainable initiatives and connecting people in need with the necessary resources.

Description

The Giving Exchange is committed to improving the lives of people in need - not just for today, but for tomorrow’s yet to come. We work in underserved communities around the world to provide critical lifesaving resources and implement self-sustaining programs that are certifiable and complete with training and measurement. Some of our projects focus on basic human rights (access to clean water, good hygiene, education, etc.) while most of our projects are assessed for impact and sustainability, aiming to empower our beneficiaries for generations to come (fish farms, chicken coops, skills & business training, etc). We proudly collaborate with local communities on every project implemented abroad to fill the need they have identified and use in-country staff, partners, and resources to develop the solution. Every member of our team is driven by a passion to give underprivileged children access to education and opportunities they would not otherwise have. Jump in and get involved with us, it is literally life changing!

TGE provides equipment, training, labor, logistics and funding to meet the immediate needs of each project, and then assists each organization in finding a sustainable solution tailored to meet the long-term needs of each project.

At the completion of the project TGE then certifies that all commitments were delivered.

The creative process is conducted by TGE members who offer more than 20 years of business, financial and legal experience.
