Calling creatives intimately attuned to the BIPOC community! Cures of Colors is currently seeking a Creative Advisor (non-profit, voluntary)!

You’re creative. Sometimes, at work, or at school, you doze off and think about magical lands, fantastic characters, and intricate stories. You like children, colors, and metaphors, and constantly wonder how you can combine your love of writing with social justice.

If this sounds like you, consider joining our writing team at Cures of Colors.

Cures of Colors is a nonprofit dedicated to creating coloring books that teach children to grow with empathy. Established amidst the turmoil of 2020, we seek to explain the complicated concepts of race, illness, family dynamics, and more to children through coloring books. We believe we can change the world through coloring books, and we do so by putting into perspective real life concerns and social issues that occupy the minds of children. Our first coloring book explored ways to stay safe and assuage anxiety during the pandemic. Our next project? Explore issues of systemic racism and discrimination through an age-appropriate children’s coloring book. We would like to recruit those who have thought deeply about this topic, are passionate about it and would like to educate future generations in order to make the world a more compassionate place.

Mission Statement

Cures of Colors is dedicated to bridging the gap between childhood fantasies and real-life, age appropriate narratives to provoke dialogue around social and emotional issues in the society we live in. We are utilizing coloring books as an interactive medium to frame stories through a lens of diverse perspectives.

Description

Thank you for your interest in joining the movement to color a brighter future! We’re thrilled you’re exploring new ways to introduce important topics of conversation to the special tiny humans in your life. Together as parents, caregivers, and educators we can unite for the common good of our children, igniting our inner and collective power to bring forth positive change. Teaching our children to make their own ripples of love and compassion will carry forth momentum - making waves that inspire the best of humanity.

Each coloring book is a work of love and creativity designed by a team of passionate creatives supporting our mission through their own unique gifts. While we do periodically consult with advisors in the professions of academia, child behavioral therapy, and youth development, these books on their own are not meant to completely resolve any issues you or your child may be experiencing related to the content. It is our desire for our narrative coloring books to serve as one of our many helpful tools in addressing the extensive and on-going work.
