NYC Mini Hip-Hop Majorette Coach

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

We are looking for a creative and patient coach to work with our competitive Mini Hip-Hop Majorette Dance Teams which serve young ladies ages 5 to 7 until June, 2021. The teams are being trained to perform in shows and parades and will also be prepared for entry-level competitions. Our first performance is slated to be at the Prudential Center in early Spring, depending on the pandemic.

All of our teams work virtually due to the pandemic. Coaches will need to be available on Saturdays virtually from 2pm to 3pm.

We will examine the safety and comfort of returning to an indoor practice for March 2021. If this happens, our indoor practices will be held on Saturday afternoons at the Pearl Studios in the Penn Station area of Manhattan (8th Ave/West 35th). Coaches who are uncomfortable with in person practices can elect to just coach online. We should note that the time slot is unknown at this time, as the venue may need to change us around to accommodate their social-distancing mandates.

Coaching experience is not required. We will consider a current high school senior (who needs community service hours) or recent high school graduate. While Majorette experience is not required, HIP-HOP DANCE EXPERIENCE is CRITICAL!

Interested candidates should respond letting us know about their dance experience and any burning questions that they have. We will respond immediately. Thank you for your interest and please stay safe and sane.
