TGE

We are looking for 1 experienced, proactive, and strategic Social Media Manager, AND 2-3 Social Media Coordinators to join our team and help us make a BIG difference.

You will report to our Program Director with weekly meetings, and be responsible for planning and scheduling the content across our social media platforms.

Each of these roles will require approximately 5-10 hours per week. Hours are flexible, but you must be dedicated and responsive. We are very understanding of conflicts or other more pressing obligations, but please communicate with us honestly. This role requires a 6-month commitment.

**TO VOLUNTEER FOR THIS POSITION please e-mail us directly at info*at*thegivingexchange.net with the subject line "#volunteerapp". Attach your resume, and in the body of the e-mail please write a brief paragraph detailing why you want to volunteer for The Giving Exchange: what drew you to TGE? how do your passions align with our mission? what specific skills to you have that we will find helpful? any examples of the graphic design / social media post work?

TGE is currently active across Facebook and Instagram (@thegivingexchange). We need to grow our presence on LinkedIn and TikTok. You should be familiar with all the platforms, and we will look to you for both content and strategy. Our goal is to grow a strong and consistent brand narrative across all platforms, and we need your help!

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for planning the content strategy and posting to the platforms directly.

The Social Media Coordinators will be responsible for designing the content: using our brand colors and fonts, photography and videography, to create all aspects of content from images and videos to captions, hashtags, alt text and more.

We have a CanvaPro Team account you will be added to, but you are welcome to use any other editing software you prefer. We currently use Buffer Publisher and Facebook Creator Studio, but are open to different suggestions. As a team, we manage our tasks and workload in Trello. Familiarity with these softwares are desired but not required.

A little about us:

The Giving Exchange is committed to improving the lives of people in need - not just for today, but for tomorrow’s yet to come. We work in underserved communities around the world to provide critical lifesaving resources and implement self-sustaining programs that are certifiable and complete with training and measurement. Some of our projects focus on basic human rights (access to clean water, good hygiene, education, etc.) while most of our projects are assessed for impact and sustainability, aiming to empower our beneficiaries for generations to come (fish farms, chicken coops, skills & business training, etc). We proudly collaborate with local communities on every project implemented abroad to fill the need they have identified and use in-country staff, partners, and resources to develop the solution. Every member of our team is driven by a passion to give underprivileged children access to education and opportunities they would not otherwise have. What’s unique about TGE is that one hundred percent of every dollar donated goes directly to our projects, and you can choose where your money goes - whether you want to sponsor a child’s education or uplift an entire community by contributing to a greenhouse. And you can experience your impact first-hand by traveling as a TGE volunteer to Kenya on our annual trip to raise awareness, cultivate relationships, and track project performance. Jump in and get involved with us, it is literally life-changing!
