Description

Who we are

Rochester Global Refugee Services (RGRS) is a non-profit organization based out of Western New York. It was founded in 2014 by a former refugee, Faziri Ndahiro Renzaho, who is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo and who lived in a refugee camp for over eight years in Uganda. After moving to the USA in 2011, Faziri and his family were quickly overwhelmed by the lack of information and resources as New Americans after their 6 months of basic services provided by the resettlement agency had ended. He became passionate about creating paths by bridge the gap between future new Americans to the home. For that purpose, he established Rochester Global Refugee Services which gained its 501 (c)3 tax-exempt status (EIN: 82-........) in 2018. RGRS aims to aid in the resettlement of refugee and immigrant groups in the USA by providing assistance, training, and connecting them to resource opportunities that promote self-sufficiency.

RGRS has developed the resources and capabilities to foster the self-sufficiency and integration of new Americans, including the development of an experienced, multinational, and multilingual staff and consultant team to aid our local as well as international programs.
