Rocky Mountain Communities (RMC), an affordable housing nonprofit with headquarters in Denver, is looking for a multi-month technology tutor for an older adult employee. The volunteer must be able to dedicate 1-3 hours every week to help this employee learn basic computer skills including, but not limited to, basic keyboard commands (i.e. copy and paste), desktop layout and shortcuts, using and rotating between open tabs, video conferencing, and Microsoft Outlook. Experience teaching computers to older adults preferred. . The schedule is mostly flexible and can be accommodated M, T, W, F between 8:30am and 2:00pm.
Purpose: By helping this employee, you will be helping our low-income and disadvantaged residents resume regular programming that helps enrich their lives. The majority-senior population at this property relies on community programs to mitigate social isolation, stay updated on healthcare benefits, and learn valuable information about the community. Since Covid-19 has hit, in-person programming has not been possible. Therefore, the volunteer will help make programming virtual by teaching the RMC employee so that our residents can have a reprieve during this difficult time.
Mission: Rocky Mountain Communities mission is to build brighter futures by investing in resident focused affordable housing and services, empowering individuals and families to thrive.
