This position is through the AmeriCorps program; whose mission is to come together to tackle our nation's most pressing challenges. At Housing Forward, the AmeriCorps volunteer will be part of our Career Passport program on a part time basis. This role encompasses working with homeless clients from the point of intake, through job searching, and with post hire retention services.
Career Passport Duties:
- Conduct outreach activities to identify and encourage enrollment
- Facilitate individual and group intakes
- Conduct individual assessments with potential participants
- Facilitate the month-long intensive phase of Career Passport with other Supportive Service Staff
- Work with clients both individually and in groups to identify career interests, skills, and personal challenges
- Develop trusting relationships with clients
- Provide job retention services with the Job Developer
General Responsibilities:
- Complete all documentation requirements
- Enter client demographics and service information in HMIS (Homeless Management Information System)
- Participate in clinical team meetings for effective client intervention and service planning
- Participate in administrative meetings
- Crisis intervention when needed
- Other duties as assigned.
AmeriCorps Program Benefits
- Living Allowance: $16,000 annually distributed bi-weekly
- Education Award: Upon successful completion of 900 hours of service, receive an $3,247.50 education award

Teaching experience or Bachelor's degree in social service related field preferred.
