Are you concerned about growing older adult loneliness and isolation amid the COVID-19 pandemic? Would you like to pitch in to do what you can? If so, facilitate one or more interactive programs over Zoom that offer isolated seniors the opportunity to take a break from their usual routines to team up to play games (like Jeopardy and Family Feud), engage in activities (like a no-cook cooking challenge), and/or just chitchat.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) was started in 1966 by the Community Service Society (CSS), an over 170-year-old nonprofit agency. CSS's mission is to identify problems which create a permanent poverty class in New York City, and to advocate the systemic changes required to eliminate such problems. CSS will focus on enabling, empowering and promoting opportunities for poor families and individuals to develop their full potential, to contribute to society, and to realize social, economic and political opportunities.
RSVP matches adults 55 and older with meaningful volunteer opportunities at New York City nonprofits. With more than 2,300 volunteers, RSVP in New York City is one of the largest senior volunteer programs in the nation. There are over 600 RSVPs which operate nationally and many that do so internationally. We match volunteers on the basis of interests and abilities, community needs, geographic convenience, and experience.
