Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)/CSSNYC
Want to make a difference?
Volunteer with an organization committed to ending Alzheimer's and all other dementias by creating a safe, open environment where group members can share their feelings, thoughts, and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia. Provide all involved with emotional, social, and/or educational support. Please note, interested individuals must have a master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this is exclusively a remote opportunity.
Guess what?! There are even more great opportunities for volunteers 55 and older in all 5 boroughs!
RSVP works with over 250 partner organizations. If this opportunity is not for you, we can help you find another that is. Inquire about our active opportunities today and/or ask to be added to our contact list for after things settle down!
**Please note: all RSVP volunteer opportunities are for individuals 55 and older; also, most assignments are with our partners located across the City**

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) was started in 1966 by the Community Service Society (CSS), an over 170-year-old nonprofit agency. CSS's mission is to identify problems which create a permanent poverty class in New York City, and to advocate the systemic changes required to eliminate such problems. CSS will focus on enabling, empowering and promoting opportunities for poor families and individuals to develop their full potential, to contribute to society, and to realize social, economic and political opportunities.
RSVP matches adults 55 and older with meaningful volunteer opportunities at New York City nonprofits. With more than 2,300 volunteers, RSVP in New York City is one of the largest senior volunteer programs in the nation. There are over 600 RSVPs which operate nationally and many that do so internationally. We match volunteers on the basis of interests and abilities, community needs, geographic convenience, and experience.
We'll work with your schedule.
